Alvin Hauge

Alvin Hauge, 84, of Crosslake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24th, 2015 at Golden Horizons, in Crosslake, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held this Friday, May 29th at 11AM at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake, with Father Nick Nelson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services, at the church. Interment with military honors, will be at Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake.

Alvin Howard Hauge was born to Clarence and Clara (Danielson) Hauge on May 14th,
1931 in East Chain, MN. Alvin grew up in Ideal Corners, graduating from Pequot
Lakes High School. He received a degree in Biology from the University of
Minnesota, while attending the ROTC program. Upon graduation, he started his full
time career in the United States Army. Alvin was united in marriage to Patricia Ann
Farrell on May 4, 1957 in Gary, Indiana . They had extensive travels all over the
United States, Germany and Greece. Alvin retired from the Army as a Lieutenant
Colonel, after 21 years of service, including two tours in Vietnam. He was an avid
fisherman. He enjoyed golf, playing bridge, and was a creative woodworker.
Most important, Alvin was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Alvin is survived by Patricia, his wife of 58 years; son, Gerald Hauge of Hopkins, MN; daughter, Susan Hauge of Crosslake; and grandson, Matthew Hauge of Brainerd. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James; brothers, Elmer and Gerald Hauge; and sisters, June Dalton and Jane Gregoir. Memorials are preferred.
