Almond Drone

Almond Dale Drone, 53, of Otsego died on Saturday, March 4, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Services for Almond will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Assembly of God Church in Staples, MN with Pastor Roy Miles officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN from 5:00-7:00 PM and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment at Montrose Cemetery in Staples.

Almond was born on July 7, 1958 in Wadena, MN to Almond and Ethel (Lilly) Drone. He graduated from Staples High School and Staples Vo-Tech School to become a machine operator. Almond worked for Cornelius in Anoka for 23 years. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, cars, motorcycles, and going to car shows. Almond also loved spending time with his family, being active in the church, and reading the Bible.

Almond is survived by his step-mother, Betty Drone of Staples, MN; siblings, Gary West of Brainerd, MN, Kerry (Margaret) West of Wadena, MN, Bruce Drone of Staples, MN, Norman (Shawna) Drone of Verndale, MN, Starr (Larry) Botzet of Hutchinson, MN, Dale (Kathy) Self of Pillager, MN, Ramona Self of Brainerd, MN, Jesse (KaAnn) Drone of Staples, MN, brother-in-law, Wilbur Self of Elk River, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Almond is preceded in death by his parents, Almond and Ethel; sister, Lois; and brother, Joey West.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
