Allen Berens

Allen Edward Berens, age 66, of Pequot Lakes passed away July 19, 2016. Allen was born to Olive (Halvorson) and Roy Berens at the hospital in Starbuck, MN, on July 28, 1949. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Benson, MN, attended the Catholic School there and then attended Benson High School. After high school, Allen married Patricia (Heike) Anderson and worked with his father at Berens Trucking and owned a truck repair shop. He later moved with his family to Brainerd and then Pequot Lakes while he worked at various development and sales positions. He was an avid sportsman and loved the beauty of nature. He will be deeply missed.

Al is survived by his mother, Olive; wife, Debra; sons, Jhaun (Kori) and Dean (Kelly) Berens; daughters, Monique (Chad) Leifermann and Vanessa (James) Thompson; stepson, Joshua (Mallory) Bourn; his cherished grandchildren; sisters, Joan (Joe) Cronin and Patty (Mike) Ruhland; brothers, Tim and David (Special friend Heather); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy, and his grandparents.


Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, July 23, at St. Alice Catholic Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial at St. Francis Cemetery, Benson, MN, at a later date.
