Allan Mason

Allan Mason, 87, passed away at his home in Backus on May 31, 2022. He was born in Debs, MN, on January 19, 1935, to Henrietta (Mark) and Jess Mason. Allan was a logger in Minnesota for most of his life. Along the way he worked in the canneries in Washington and the copper mines in Anaconda, Montana. It was in Anaconda that he met and married Judy in March of 1959. Allan also graduated with a degree in computers in 1966.

Allan and Judy were both baptized as Jehovah Witnesses in 1975. Together they were active in supporting kingdom hall construction, maintenance and also sharing Bible truths with others. One of Allan’s favorite scriptures was Isaiah 30:15… “By returning to me and resting, your strength will be in keeping calm and showing trust.”

Allan is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy; daughters, Denise (Paul) and Carrie; 5 grandchildren: Timothy, Laura, Andrew, Jessica and Megan; as well as 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Jess; two sisters, Edith and Sylvia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Daniel, David and Gene.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
