Alice Eleanor Paulson, age 105, of Pine River, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010. She was born April 15, 1905 in Buxton, ND, to John and Jonette Paulson. Alice graduated from Buxton High School and Nursing School in Minneapolis. She also received training in anesthesia in Minneapolis, and obstetric nursing in Chicago. Alice was a Registered Nurse and a Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She was employed at St. Luke's Hospital in Fergus Falls as Anesthetist and Obstetric and Surgical Supervisor, then at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo as Obstetric Supervisor and Anesthetist, and finally at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis as Anesthetist.
Alice retired in 1970 and lived in her home on Kimball Lake in Pequot Lakes with her sister, Clara, who joined her there a year later. In 1994 she moved to the Riverside Villas in Pine River until January 22, 2009, when she moved into the Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Center, where she resided until her death.
Alice was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes, Pine River Art Club, Brainerd Art Club and Minnesota Rural Artist's Association.
Her parents, and sister, Clara, preceded her in death.
According to Alice's wishes, no services will be held.
