Albert Edward Zierman was born December 14, 1941, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Albert H. and Helen I. Zierman. He died peacefully at his home on Friday, November 25, 2016. Services are being planned for this upcoming Spring.
Al served in the US Navy from 1964-1967 during the Vietnam War. During his time stationed in Sanford, FL he went on two eleven-month tours on the USS KittyHawk where he was a Photo Mate. He kept his passion for photography going and
for more than twelve years he enjoyed helping the customers of WalMart with their photography needs. A job that allowed him to get paid for doing something he loved. Al also liked to fish and make fishing lures. He enjoyed bird watching and woodworking. He and his wife, Cookie attended the Church of the Nazarene in Brainerd.
Al will be missed by Cookie (Diane Salmon), his wife of 52 years; children, Dawn (Steve) Bergerson, of Hibbing and Shawn (Christina) Zierman, of Duluth; grandchildren, John, Sarah, Jeremy, Joshua, Kenneth, and Autumn; sister, Betty Lou Berg; sisters-in-law, Betty Bish and Deb Kirk; and nieces and nephew, Barbara Quiggle, Laura Olsen, and Robert J. Berg.
