Albert Sheldon

November 24, 1929 — January 27, 2010

Albert H. Sheldon, age 80, of Brainerd, passed away Wednesday morning at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 1, 2010, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter. Friends are invited to gather beginning at 10:00 AM on Monday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery in Pequot Lakes.
Albert Harold Sheldon was born on November 24, 1929 in Winnebago County, Iowa, the son of Otto and Cora (Skaare) Sheldon. He graduated from Rake High School. Following his schooling he farmed on the family farm in Winnebago County until 1978. On April 19, 1947, he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Wessels in Fairmount, MN. To this union 6 children were born. After retiring from farming the couple moved to Park Rapids then in 1985 they purchased the White Pine Resort near Backus, MN, operating that until 1994. In 2004 they moved to Brainerd. Albert enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, mowing and maintaining the yard. He loved to tell stories and found humor in everything he did. Albert was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Pequot Lakes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Cora; his wife of 57 years, Anna Mae on Feb. 12, 2005; and a brother, Oliver. Albert will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Lanita Valchar of Alvin, TX, Linda (Bill) OBrien of Aloha, OR, Michael (Barbara) Sheldon of Owatonna, MN, Allan (Margaret) Sheldon of New London, MN, Jeff (Shelly) Sheldon of Cohasset, MN and Angela Sheldon and friend Brad Bartels of Menahga, MN; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
