Alauna Camus

Alauna "Kathy" (Salinas) Camus, 39, of Brainerd, died at her home Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Services will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, November 25 from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.

Alauna was born on February 15, 1972 in Phoenix, AZ but she grew up in Duluth and Chisholm, MN. Alauna was united in marriage to Chris Camus on June 12, 2004. She worked at the Lutheran Youth Shelter until closed. She has spent the last seven years assisting Nadine Gessner at Edward Jones. Alauna enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter.

Alauna loved to spend time with her family - especially her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality, infectious laugh and a smile that could light up a room. Alauna was a loving, compassionate person who will forever be held dear in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Chris; mother, Launa Salinas; siblings, (Best Friend of 30 years), Casie (Tangedahl) Slad, Chris (Bonnie) Salinas, Mike (Denise) Salinas, Heidi (Mike) Schmidt, and Matt Salinas; her nieces, Cathline, Roxanne, Carissa, Corrina, Camryn, and Alesha; nephews, Mark, Steve, Cade, and Michael; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark; nephew, Kevin; and adoptive father, Lester C. Tangedahl.
