Agnes M. Trantina, age 82, of Staples died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Staples Care Center. Memorial services will be Thursday, May 10, at 11 am, at St. Isidores Catholic Church in Clarissa. Interment will be at St. Isidores Cemetery. Agnes Marie Trantina was born March 16, 1925 in Fawn Lake Township, to Frank and Loretta (Smith) Trantina. She grew up helping on the family farm. At the age of 16, she move to Minneapolis, where she worked for many years as a seamstress in a coat factory and then in a dress factory. She was a member of St. Olafs Catholic Church in Minneapolis. She had a close group of friends who enjoyed bowling, going to lunch, and traveling together. She particularly loved when her nieces and nephews and their families visited her. Prior to entering the Care Center she had lived at Lakewood Pines in Staples. Agnes is survived by 16 nieces and nephews and their spouses and children, and by a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Trantina. Her parents; a sister, Frances Trantina; and a brother, James Trantina, preceded her in death. Services entrusted to Branny Funeral Home of Staples.
