Agnes was born on July 9, 1934, to Frank and Lila (Marsh) Kowalski. She grew up near Staples spending many days working on the family farm, which may be where she picked up her tenacious and resilient attitude toward life. She and her beloved husband, Ron, were married for 54 years. She spent much of her life caring for her family. As a homemaker, Agnes spent most days preparing meals, sewing, and taking care of all daily events that define family life. She was famous for her potato salad and rhubarb cake. Those cooking talents were used preparing huge evening dinners where anyone who was at the house and willing to stay was invited to sit down together for mealtime. Home was where her heart was and she loved her family deeply, which can be seen in the thousands of pictures and keepsakes Agnes kept over the years. There were many hours dedicated to making photo albums and compiling recipes for the next great meal. She was also an avid collector of almost everything pertaining to animals and dolls. She loved tending her gardens, canning, and making many delicious jelly varieties. Agnes passed on a legacy of the very definition of a hardworking, multitasking supermom.
Agnes is survived by her eight children, Rick Peterson, Ray (Marene) Peterson, Dale (Connie) Peterson, Paul (Dawn) Peterson, Peter Peterson, Wanda (Bruce) Kraemer, Mike (Julie) Carry, Scott (Ashley) Carry; twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; siblings, Frank (Shirley) Kowalski.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lila Kowalski, siblings, Lucille Etzler, Jeanette Etzler, Joan Bjerga and daughter, Michelle Carry; and grandson, Jeremy Zemke.
