Adolph Melvin Anderson was born February 7, 1923, at the family farm west of Pequot Lakes to Henry John (Henrik Kirketeig) and Alice Martha (Widmark) Anderson. He graduated from Pequot Lakes High School in 1941 followed by service in the Navy, then working as a foreman for Minneapolis Moline Tractor Company which later became White Motor Company in Minneapolis and Charles City, Iowa. Upon retirement he returned to help at the family farm.
Born into a family of nine, Adolph is survived by brother, David Anderson (Renee) of Pequot Lakes; sisters, Ruth Griffin of Pine River and Arlene Walesch (Ken) of Anoka, MN. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Leonard Hein, of Excelsior, MN; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Adolph was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Anderson; sisters, Clara Aaker, Selma Hein, Edna Ehlenfeldt and Alma Anderson; brothers-in-law, Oliver Indergaard, Alden Anderson, Faye Ehlenfeldt, Charles Griffin; and niece, Kathleen Griffin.
Adolph loved hunting, fishing and helping brother, Arthur, during retirement on the farm. Following Art's death and the sale of the farm, Adolph moved to the Good Samaritan apartments in Pine River and enjoyed the people there and especially loved playing cribbage with them. He was a member of the Jenkins VFW and Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes. We will deeply miss this kind, dear man.
