Terry C. Christensen, age 84, passed away at home on July 29, 2019 after a courageous seven-month battle with a rare autoimmune disease. Memorial service will be held 11AM September 6, 2019 at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.
Born May 16, 1935 to Raymond and Blanche (Barta) Christensen in in Mahnomen, Minnesota. Terry graduated from Mahnomen High School and later attended the University of Minnesota where he earned a B.A. Terry proudly served his county 1953-1956 in the Navy aboard the USS John S. McCain DL-3. Throughout his life he continued to stay in contact with his shipmates. His life’s work was in sales. He worked for OMC, Kraft Foods, and Johnson Evinrude as a district manager. In 1978 Terry decided he no longer wished to travel for work and pursued his real estate license and later a broker’s license. In 1980 he married his wife Jo and they carried on as real estate company owners/brokers in Brainerd, Minnesota. Terry retired in 2012 and they moved to Peoria, Arizona in 2012 to care for Jo’s mother. Terry loved being outdoors whether to relax in the woodland surrounding their home watching the wildlife or game hunting on the eighty acres of land with friends and family. Hosting the annual deer hunting camp was a happy time for him. His love for the outdoors led Terry to enjoy snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, golf, traveling, playing cards, football, watching UFC, and spending time with family and friends. We will remember Terry’s sense of humor and fun-loving spirit—he will be missed. Even in his declining condition we were blessed with a few precious laughs and special moments. Terry is survived by his loving wife Jo; four children- Charyl (Tim) Roberts of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Curt (Jennifer) Christensen of Merrifield, Minnesota, Eric Christensen of Sacramento, California, and Tim (Heidi) Winn of Andover, Minnesota; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, relatives, and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Blanche, and his brother Raymond.
